San Diego

  • March 8, 2012 10:24 pm

So Nikki and I took a quick trip to San Diego this past weekend to hopefully finalize our wedding plans. Although having some problems with the hotel room, we had a great time visiting San Diego and Coronado Island. We did find some time to enjoy some sun and the great views along the beach.
We also think we have a more solid plan of where the wedding will be and the dinner reception. Just have to wait about 2 weeks to obtain some approval from the city to have a wedding on the beach and other than that things are finally moving in a forward direction.
Also on our last day there, we got a chance to go to the Maritime Museum of San Diego and got a chance to tour many vessels.

Hopefully should have invitations going out soon.

Wedding Update

  • January 2, 2012 10:56 pm

Hello All!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

Yes, I know it has been a while since we have posted, things have been a little busy during the holidays and wedding planning. Below is new picture taken at a wedding we attended on New Years Day, what a great way to start the new year. It was great to attend a wedding to give us ideas for our planning.

We had birthday celebrations since last post. Nikki turned 29 on November 26th, and I’m sure once she finds out I posted her age, she may not be happy with me :) . We had a great time on her birthday, by spending the day together attending the car show down at the convention center where Nikki was picking out her new car, an Audi A6 or A8. We saw a movie and then finished the day off with dinner with friends at one of our favorite restaurants Malee’s on Main in Old Town Scottsdale.

I celebrated my 25th birthday on December 12th, Nikki surprised me with dinner with family. The Friday before my birthday, I was lured into believing just the two of us were going to dinner and she ended up picking me up from the originally meeting place and took me to Red Robin where my parents, one of my sisters, our good friend/co-worker Ali were waiting on us to join them for dinner. I had no idea about the surprise dinner, it was wonderful way to celebrate my birthday. On my actual birthday that Monday, I was actually became very sick and stayed home for most of the day.

This year’s Christmas consisted of having the typical family dinner on Christmas Eve prepared by my mom, where Nikki was fully integrated in one of the many family traditions in my family. We celebrated Christmas Day at my sister Melissa’s house with dinner and spending time together with only part of the family.

New Year’s Eve was quiet as we just went to dinner after each our long days at work, watch the Suns lose another game this season and then went home to forgo the craziness of New Year’s Eve Parties.

That’s it for now.

Engagement Party

  • November 6, 2011 9:13 pm

Today, Nikki and I had some close friends over for a small party to celebrate our engagement. It was quite an exciting event we played some games, guess the number of red skittles in the cup. We used red skittles since that is one of Nikki’s favorite candy. The correct answer was 229, which is our two digit month, day, year of our birthdays added together (11+26+82+12+12+86). Funny note, today marks 229 days until our wedding..hmmm.. interesting. We had two winners for this game, Kat and Jillian both guessed 230 so they each got a Starbucks gift card. Kristen also put together a small game of jeopardy about Nikki and I individually and also things we do together. Our two winners were Sam and Jillian won once again in a tie breaker question between her and Mary. These games really brought a lot a of laughter to the party. We enjoyed a good BBQ courtesy of myself, Yum!

We are very blessed to have such great friends to share this day with us!

Countdown until our Wedding

  • October 20, 2011 8:53 pm

As you can see off to the right we have a countdown going until our wedding. So that means we have a date of June 23, 2012. It has much meaning to have it on that day as it is a year from that date was Nikki and I’s first date. I still remember every moment to this day. Let the planning continue as we have already started to get ahead by working early at it.

Take care everyone

Nikki’s Ring

  • October 18, 2011 5:43 am

Just in case you were wondering where I purchased Nikki’s engagement ring. We found a wholesaler in the northern part of Scottsdale called Alexa Rose Jewelry. Ron the jeweler there was great, no pressure and willing to listen our needs in what we wanted.

Engagement Photos are coming soon…

  • October 17, 2011 2:07 am

Hello All,

Nikki and I were able to take a few hours out of our busy week to do some engagement photos today. Nikki’s friend Mary Bankhead was wonderful enough to meet us on short notice today to take a bunch of photos. (790 to be exact!) We can’t wait for the final result. We’ll be posting them soon.

Take Care,

Alex

Trip to Paulden

  • October 12, 2011 9:46 pm

Sunday October 9th Nikki, my sister Kathy and I took an adventure to go horseback riding just north of Prescott. We left quite early for the 8am ride. We got to the Wishing Well bar and grill with plenty of time to spare. Once are authentic cowboy tour guides met us there we drove into the back country of the city of Paulden. Once we made it to our starting place shockingly I think the cowboys thought my lonely Ponitac was able to handle the drive we road out on to the trail. It was priceless to see the tour guides drinking a Keystone beer while preparing the horses, mind you it was around 9 am in the morning. So we started on a tour with a our guide named Dave. I rode Tank the 10 year old retired bucking horse, Nikki was on Dixie the former champion horse and Kathy rode Moon for our 2 hour journey. Since I was a first time rider, I was on Tank as he was a slow and easy going horse to ride. We spent the 2 hours riding throughout the hills and valley. The site was very beautiful and was even able to see cattle as well roaming the area. Pictures are to come shortly..stay tune. We had a really great time riding through the area even getting the horses to gallop a little when we were going up hill. I knew that Tank was old after the first hill with the heavy breathing that he experienced following the quick gallop run. We did a few water crossings to allow the horses to get a quick drink and headed back to our starting point. Besides the fact that the cowboy guides were late to start, the adventure was very fun to experience. I wouldn’t have ever thought I would see the scenery that we did that day in Arizona.

Like I said in the post, should be getting some photos up soon, so check back.
